Apology - Cllr David Barker
During the 2026 local elections we produced a leaflet that, while not naming anyone specifically, made claims about a Reform candidate’s drug use and physical abuse, that we later discovered were not true.
Cllr David Barker, who now represents the Deptford & Hendon ward, has identified himself as the candidate in question. We sincerely apologise to Cllr Barker for our error, and we are happy to clarify that none of the allegations made about him in that leaflet were true.
We wish Cllr Barker and his colleagues the best now they have taken control of Sunderland City Council and will continue to cooperate with them in the best interests of Sunderland.
Bringing common sense to Sunderland.
For over 50 years, Sunderland was at the mercy of a Labour Council.
In May 2026, people voted for change and elected a Reform UK run Council on the back of a promise to cut waste and investigate corruption.
But what was Reform UK’s first act in power? To line their pockets, increasing allowances by over £120,000.
There is an alternative to Labour and Reform UK.
The Conservatives in Sunderland are on your side. From opposing wasteful spending to exposing dodgy land deals, we put the best interests of the city first.
Our team of hard-working team is fighting for a better deal for their neighbourhoods: cleaner streets, safer roads and low levels of crime.
